Today, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with new appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Ashgabat Konstantin Sabiashvili, who presented copies of his credentials.
As reported MFA of Turkmenistan, noting that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia, the parties discussed issues of strengthening relations between two countries.
The importance of the recent visit of Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili to Ashgabat and his meeting with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was emphasized. Let us remind that within the framework of his visit was signed the agreement on cooperation in the transport field, which gives an opportunity to carry out direct flights between Tbilisi and Ashagabat.
Ambassador Konstantin Sabiashvili stated that in his new post he would make every effort to further expand and strengthen ties between the two countries.
