From October 11, Japan will open its borders to tourists after two years of restrictions due to the pandemic. This was announced on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. To get to the Land of the Rising sun, now you only need a certificate of three delivered vaccines and a negative PCR test.

In June, strict restrictions on arrivals in the country were already eased, but tourists could only visit the country under an agreement with a travel agency. This significantly increased the cost of the trip.

Now, the influx of travelers will be a welcome boost to local businesses. The world's third-largest economy, Japan was one of the last Asian powers to keep its borders closed due to COVID-19.
