From October 11, Japan will open its borders to tourists after two years of restrictions due to the pandemic. In June, strict restrictions on arrivals in the country were already eased, but tourists could only visit the country under an agreement with a travel agency. This significantly increased the cost of the trip.
Now, the influx of travelers will be a welcome boost to local businesses. The world's third-largest economy, Japan was one of the last Asian powers to keep its borders closed due to COVID-19.
