A severe drought that shoaled a river in “Dinosaur Valley” State Park in Texas has permitted scientists to discover previously unknown dinosaur footprints. The age of the traces of ancient creatures was estimated at 113 million years.

Due to excessive drought, the water level in the “Dinosaur Valley” Park's river has dropped critically, and in most places the river has completely dried up.

As a result, at the bottom of its channel, traces of dinosaurs, hidden before, appeared. Most of the recently discovered footprints were left by the Acrocanthosaurus, which weighed about 7 tons as an adult and reached 6 meters in height. Scientists also found traces of another representative of the giant four-legged herbivorous dinosaurs with a long neck - Sauroposeidon.

The weight of adults of this species reached 400 tons. Scientists note that they have found other traces that have yet to be identified, writes mir24.
