The popularity of driving courses in Turkmenistan is growing every day, this is evidenced by the data released by the “Turkmenawtoulaglary” Agency, reports Turkmenportal with reference to the department.
Having a driver's license significantly increases the chances of getting a job in certain positions. The profession of a driver remains in demand to this day, and it is available to get the right to drive a car by taking courses from the Association of Automobile Schools of the “Turkmenawtoulaglary” Agency.
The association of driving schools was established in 1996, and in 2020, a new building, Awtomobil mekdepleriniň Birleşigi, was opened along the “Ashgabat-Dashoguz” highway.
The total area of the new school is 100 380 square meters, and there is parking for 52 cars on the territory. Classes are conducted in 14 classrooms.
More than 27 thousand people completed driving courses throughout Turkmenistan only in 2021. In total, there are 39 driving schools of the Association in the country:
Ashgabat – 3 schools;
- Ahal velayat – 6 schools;
- Balkan velayat – 6 schools;
- Dashoguz velayat – 5 schools;
- Mary velayat – 11 schools;
- Lebap velayat – 8 schools.
Adult citizens of Turkmenistan, who do not have contraindications for health and are not registered with a psychiatrist and narcologist, have the right to learn driving in the driving schools of the Association.
Besides that, non-residents (non-citizens of the country, permanently residing on the territory of Turkmenistan), and also deaf and dumb citizens, can be trained.
