The ceremony of awarding the volleyball team of Turkmenistan with silver medals for the second place in the Central Asian Challenge Cup was held in Bishkek. The official website of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kyrgyzstan reports about this.

Let us remind that from July 23 to 27, the Central Asian Challenge Cup (Bishkek Mayor's Cup) in volleyball among men's national teams was held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Nationals of Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan participated in the tournament.

On July 25, the preliminary round ended. Turkmen volleyball players prevailed in five games over the national teams of Kazakhstan — 3:2 (19:25, 20:25, 25:21, 25:22, 15:13) and Kyrgyzstan — 3:2 (28:26, 17:25, 25:21, 23:25, 15:8). In the last match of the group stage, the national team of Turkmenistan defeated Uzbekistan — 3:0 (25:18, 25:13, 25:10) and advanced to the semifinals of the tournament.

On July 26 the semi-finals were played. The volleyball team of Turkmenistan reached the finals of the Central Asian Challenge Cup, defeating the team of Uzbekistan in the semifinals — 3:0 (25:20, 25:10, 25:15).
The final match and the match for third place was held on July 27.

In the match for the third place, the team of Kazakhstan defeated the national team of Uzbekistan in three games — 3:0.

In the finals of the Central Asian Challenge Cup, the team of Kyrgyzstan played with the team of Turkmenistan. The duel turned out to be very stubborn — having lost the first game (20:25), the Kyrgyzstan is won the second (25:21), again lost the third (21:25), but found the strength to level the score in the fourth — 25:16. As a result, everything was decided in a tie-break, in which athletes from Kyrgyzstan turned out to be stronger — 15:7.
