The Leaders of the Central Asian countries signed a number of documents following the results of the Cholpon-Ata summit

The number of important documents were signed today by the Presidents of the Central Asian countries withing the framework of the fourth Consultative meeting which was held in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan).

As per the information policy department of the Kyrgyz Republic President, the heads of five states have adopted a joint statement.

Besides, the leaders of three countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan Kasym – Zhomart Tokayev, Sadyr Zhaparov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed an Agreement on friendship, good-neighborliness and cooperation for the development of Central Asia in the XXI century.

As it was clarified in the press-service of the Kyrgyz Republic, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon “will sign this document after the completion of interstate procedures in their countries”.

During the summit, the Presidents also approved the Concept of Interaction of the Central Asian states within the framework of multilateral formats, the Regional Program “Green Agenda” for Central Asia and the Roadmap for the Development of Regional Cooperation for 2022-2024.

In addition, the leaders of the Central Asian countries signed the decision of the heads of the founding states of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea to extend the powers of Emomali Rahmon as president of the International Fund for saving the Aral Sea.

We remind that Serdar Berdimuhamedov is visiting Kyrgyzstan for the first time after assuming the post of President of Turkmenistan in March this year and for the first time takes part in the Consultative Meeting of the heads of Central Asian states.

Before the summit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a bilateral meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Zhaparov.
