President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the first time takes part in the Central Asian countries Summit, which began in the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata of Issyk-Kul region. It was specially stressed by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, opening the fourth Consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries, the Kyrgyz national news agency KABAR reports.
“Dear Serdar Gurbangulyevich, today you are taking part in a Consultative meeting for the first time. I’m sure that you will continue the mission of honored Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich and make contribution to the integration and cooperation work in Central Asia. Taking advantage of this opportunity, I wish you great success and achievements in your post for the benefit of the prosperity of Turkmenistan,” he said.
Presidents of Kazakhstan Kassym - Jomart Tokayev, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev also arrived in Kyrgyzstan for the summit.
The leaders of the two countries will exchange opinions on strengthening cooperation between the Central Asian states in jointly responding the challenges and threats to regional security, discuss prospects for cooperation extension in the aims of provision of sustainable economic growth of the countries of the region, and also issues of further strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the Central Asian states.
Besides, within the framework of the summit the signing of the documents, aimed at strengthening friendship, good neighborliness and cooperation between the countries of Central Asia, is planned.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov visits Kyrgyzstan after the inauguration of the President of Turkmenistan in March this year.
Before the start of the summit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conducted a bilateral meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Zhaparov.
