Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov completed a two-day state visit to Uzbekistan, reports the press service of the head of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, a solid package of 19 cooperation documents was signed, which added to the legal framework of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The heads of friendly states agreed to create a border trade zone with modern infrastructure. For these purposes, the parties adopted the “Road Map” with specific measures.
Besides that, the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan signed a Joint Statement, which enshrines the main agreements and defines long-term tasks for further building up multifaceted cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries.
Also, according to the established tradition, Serdar Berdimuhamedov planted a tree on the Alley of Honored Guests at the “Kuksaroy” residence
The President of Turkmenistan, on the second day of the state visit to Uzbekistan arrived in Samarkand, where, accompanied by his Uzbek colleague Shavkat Mirziyoyev honored the memory of Islam Karimov, the first President of Uzbekistan, and got acquainted with the main sights of ancient Samarkand - the museum complex of Mirzo Ulugbek, the mausoleum of Amir Temur and Registan Square.
Having completed his state visit to Uzbekistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said goodbye to the officials of the Uzbek side at the Samarkand international airport, boarded his airliner and departed for Ashgabat.
