A meeting of Turkmen and French specialists dedicated to the organization of an exhibition of museum valuables of Turkmenistan in the Louvre Museum (France) was held in the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan today via video link, the information program “Watan” of Turkmen television reports.
Specialists of the National Directorate for the Protection, Study and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments, as well as leading museums of the capital, discussed with the scientific staff of the Department of Oriental Antiquities of the Louvre Museum the main organizational issues of the upcoming exhibition.
In particular, the concept of this project developed by the Turkmen side and the stages of its implementation were considered.
As it was noted, it is envisaged that in Parisian Louvre the artefacts found during the excavations of Ulug-depe settlings – a unique monument where the Turkmen – French archeological group works successfully for more than 20 years will be presented.
It should be recalled that currently there are more than 1400 historical and cultural objects on the state register in Turkmenistan, most of which are archaeological monuments.
