Ogulshat Amanova took a sixth place at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Leon (Mexico), the “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” website reports.

Being one of the youngest participants of the world’s Championship-2022, a 12-year—old debutante from Turkmenistan took 6th place among 12 athletes in the weight category up to 45 kg, setting three personal records - in the snatch (61 kg), the clean and jerk (75 kg) and the sum of the double- event (136 kg).

Turkmenistan is represented by seven weightlifters at these competitions: three in the men's tournament and four in the women's.

We remind that that Perhat Bagtyyarov won a small silver medal in the push exercise in the weight category up to 55 kg, lifting a 125-kilogram barbell. In the snatch exercise, he showed the sixth result — 97 kg. In the total of the double-event, he lifted 222 kilograms and eventually took fourth place.
