The date of the draw for the qualifying tournament of the Youth Asian Cup-2023 has become known

The Asian Football Confederation on its official website announced that the draw for the qualifying round of the 2023 Asian Youth Cup (under 20) will be held on May 24, 2022 in Kuala Lumpur. The broadcast starts at 13:00 Ashgabat time (16:00 local time).

The competitions will be held in order to determine the participants in the final tournament of the Asian Cup (under 20) in 2023.

As a result of the draw, 44 youth teams will be divided into 6 groups of four teams and 4 groups of five teams, within which a single round tournament will be held. The qualifying round starts on September 10 and ends on September 18, 2022. Tickets to the Youth Asian Cup-2023 will receive 10 group winners and 5 best teams from the runners-up, where Uzbekistan (the tournament’s host) is already automatically located.

The qualifying matches will be organized without the principle of zoning, notes the source.

The national team of Turkmenistan was in the fourth basket and will definitely not play in the qualifying tournament in the same group with Singapore, East Timor, Maldives, Brunei, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

The final tournament of the Asian Cup (under 20) should be held in 2023 in Uzbekistan. The 2023 Asian Cup will play the role of a qualifying tournament for the 2023 FIFA U-23 World Cup in Indonesia, which will qualify the top four teams from Asia.
