The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will take part in mourning events on the occasion of the death of the President of the UAE Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television, the delegation went to Abu Dhabi to express deep condolences to the fraternal country on behalf of Turkmenistan.
The leader of the Arab state died on Friday after a long illness, he was 73 years old. He was the second President of the UAE and held this post since November 3, 2004. He succeeded his father, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, after his death. According to Muslim customs, he was buried on the same day.
Earlier, the President of Turkmenistan sent his condolences, in which he noted that Khalifa had done a lot to strengthen friendly relations and constructive cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE.
