President Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended the validity period of foreign passports of citizens of Turkmenistan living abroad by signing a corresponding Decree, the Information Program "Watan" of the State Television has reported today.
The document prescribes "to extend the validity period of foreign passports of citizens of Turkmenistan temporarily staying or permanently residing abroad until December 31, 2024, the validity period of which expires in the period of January 1, 2023 – December 30, 2024."
The Decree was signed "in order to protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of Turkmenistan who are currently temporarily staying or permanently residing in foreign countries in connection with restrictions imposed on international communications due to the acute infectious disease pandemic arisen in the world, as well as in accordance with Article 29 of the Law of Turkmenistan "On Migration".
