Rustam Minnikhanov arrived to Turkmenistan on a working visit

President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov has arrived on a one-day working visit to Turkmenistan. This is reported by the press service of the President of Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the “Ruhyet” Palace of Congresses. Rustam Minnikhanov once again personally congratulated Serdar Gurbangulyevich on his convincing victory in the presidential elections of Turkmenistan.

The leaders together took a look of the exhibition devoted to the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse.

Rustam Minnikhanov and Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the meeting discussed the prospects of further development of cooperation extension.

“Last year, our trade turnover amounted to 77.5 million USD. There is considerable potential to increase these indicators, in particular, in such areas as oil exploration, oil production, gas transportation, automobile, aircraft, shipbuilding, and chemical products supply,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

In his turn, Serdar Berdimuhamedov assured on the readiness of assured of his readiness to continue the tradition of close cooperation with Tatarstan, as one of the economically and industrially developed regions of Russia.

Taking this opportunity, Rustam Minnikhanov invited the delegation of Turkmenistan to the events dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Turkmenistan. Tatarstan is actively cooperating within the framework of Russian-Turkmen relations.

In Turkmenistan work the branches of Tatarstan’s leading companies such as: “Tatneft”, “KAMAZ”, “KER-Holding”. Nearly 2000 “KAMAZ” automobiles have been delivered to Turkmenistan under the contract. “Tatneft” actively cooperates with “Turkmennebit”. Kazan Helicopter Plant has delivered “Ansat” to Turkmenistan to provide emergency first aid to the population. A medical MI-17-1B was also delivered. Zelenodolsk Plant named after Gorkiy delivered two high-speed passenger vessels of the A-145 project.
