Russian President Vladimir Putin intends strengthening the strategic partnership with Turkmenistan. This was stated in the message of the Russian leader addressed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the text of which has been read in the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television today.

“I am sure that by the joint efforts we will ensure the further strengthening of the Russian-Turkmenistan strategic partnership. This, of course, meets the fundamental interests of our peoples, goes in line with ensuring security and stability in Central Asia and the Caspian region,” the President of the Russian Federation noted.

Vladimir Putin congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the significant date - the 20th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation signing between Turkmenistan and Russia.

“The 2002 Treaty marked the beginning of the current stage of interstate relations between Russia and Turkmenistan. The signing of this important document set the conditions for a qualitative increase in bilateral dialogue and interaction in many areas,” Putin stressed.

At the end of his message, the President of Russia wished Serdar Berdimuhamedov good health and success, and well-being and prosperity to all citizens of Turkmenistan.
