Lunar dust collected by astronaut Neil Armstrong during the first moon landing will be auctioned at Bonhams.

According to forbes.ru, the dust was collected by an astronaut as a sample for the NASA agency during landing on the surface of the Earth's satellite in 1969. The authenticity of the lot put up for auction has been confirmed by NASA.

The auction is scheduled for April 13th. The starting price of the lot will be 800 000 USD. Part of the proceeds from the sale of moon dust will go to scientific charities.

As the newspaper notes, in 2017, a bag was put up for auction, in which samples of lunar material were collected. Then he went under the hammer for 1.8 million USD.
