Today, an event dedicated to the legacy of the great poet and philosopher Nizami Ganjavi was held at the Cultural Center of Iran in Ashgabat.

Opening the event, the Head of the Cultural Center Navid Rasuli greeted all those present and noted the role of Nizami Ganjavi in the world literature, in particular, in Persian. He stressed that the unique phenomenon of the artistic thought of mankind - the legacy of Nizami Ganjavi - was an integral part of the spirituality of the Iranian people for more than eight centuries. The great poet of the East, he was a man for all time, making huge influence on the lyrics and the epic of subsequent times, and the heroes of his works of art became generic eternal images. Rasuli noted that Nizami's ancestors were from Tafresh (a city in the west of Iran) and he often mentioned Iran in his artworks. As an example, he read out an excerpt from Nizami's "Seven Beauties":

The whole universe is only a body, and Iran is a soul.

I say this boldly, breathing the truth.

The spirit of the earth is Iran. And now - listen to every rumor:

Let the body of the world be beautiful - the spirit is above the body.

In turn, the teacher of the Persian language and literature at the school at the Iranian Embassy in Ashgabat, Razazan Behzad, noted the importance of the poet's immortal works. Five poems by Nizami: "Treasury of Secrets", "Khosrov and Shirin", " Layla and Majnun ", "Seven Beauties" and "Iskander-name" became the Golden Fund of the poetry of the East. These poems are united by the common name "Panj Ganj", which is translated from Persian as "Five Jewels", better known as "Five".

“Today, the younger generation continues studying the works of Nizami Ganjavi, who preached the ideas of peace, love, kindness, brotherhood,” R. Behzad said.

Later in the evening, the students of the Persian language courses recited Nizami's poetry.

The crowning touch of the evening was the performance "Seven Beauties", also staged by the students. Their efforts were not in vain - the spectators met their performance with thunderous applause.

The participants of the event also viewed an exhibition of works on Iranian calligraphy, organized in the foyer of the Cultural Center.
