Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with voters in Dashoguz

Turkmenistan launched the next stage of the pre-election campaign - the outreach campaign - for the upcoming Presidential elections on March 12. Today, in Dashoguz, it was opened by a meeting of voters with the candidate nominated by the Democratic Party for the post of President of Turkmenistan, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.

The meeting was held in the Conference Hall of the Administration of the country’s northern region with the participation of regional labor establishments’ representatives of all sectors of economy, public organizations, high specialized educational institutions, media as well as Honorary Elders.

The candidate's authorized representative - teacher of high school No.65 of Gyorogly District, delegate of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh from the Dashoguz Region Tazegul Aramedova informed the audience of Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s labor biography. She presented the candidate as a young, initiative, globally-minded and responsible leader with extensive experience in various areas of government activity, as well as a person with high moral and organizational qualities.

Outlining the main directions of his Election Program, Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that "increasing the authority of Turkmenistan on the planet as well as further successful development of the country are among the historical tasks."

As noted, if elected to the highest state post, along with other regions of the country, the candidate intends paying great attention to the Dashoguz Region, which has achieved impressive success in many areas of the economy over the years of independence.

"Constructive transformations initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will continue in future," the candidate said.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov outlined the range of tasks facing him. Among them: development of housing construction, providing the population with high-quality drinking water, rational use of water resources, development of national and international tourism in the region, building of new modern high schools and preschool institutions in cities and villages.

The importance of further construction and reconstruction of highways in the Region was also noted, in particular, in such directions as Ashgabat-Dashoguz, highways connecting the Administrative Center of the Region with the Ruhubelent District and the city of Kunyaurgench.

The candidate's Program also indicates rendering support to entrepreneurs, their active involvement in the reform of the agricultural sector. According to him, these measures will ensure further development of the industry for processing various agricultural products, including sesame, wheat and cotton. Also, taking into account the voters’ instructions, the stimulation of private producers will continue, Serdar Berdimuhamedov assured.

The candidate answered numerous questions from those present, specifying some provisions of his pre-election platform. In particular, he focused on topics related to public health and environmental safety, improving social and living conditions of the population in the regions, presenting his vision of these and other tasks, as well as specific measures to solve them.

The candidate for the post of President of Turkmenistan assured the voters that he would give all his strength and knowledge to use the experience accumulated over the years of his work for the sake of further prosperity of the Motherland.

"Taking part in the elections for the highest state post is a great responsibility not only for me, but also for the entire young generation brought up during the years of independence," Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

To recap, in accordance with Article 51 of the Electoral Code of the country, from the moment of their registration, candidates have equal rights to speak at pre-election meetings, sittings as well as in media. State and local self-government bodies, officials of institutions, organizations and enterprises are obliged to assist candidates in obtaining the required information related to the elections.

Also, according to Article 52 of the Electoral Code, each candidate for the post of President of Turkmenistan may have up to three authorized representatives in each district, a city with district rights.
