In the Swedish city of Södertälje, crows will be brought in to clean up cigarette butts and small debris from the streets. Corvid Cleaning took over the training of the birds. As planned, the birds will bring garbage to a special machine, which, in turn, will give them food. The crows were not chosen by chance for the project. Corvid Cleaning founder Christian Günter-Hanssen said: “Ravens are easier to train and there is a high chance they will learn from each other. At the same time, there is less risk that they will mistakenly eat some garbage.”

If the experiment is successful, the birds will begin to clean up the garbage from the streets of other cities in Sweden. In addition, with the attraction of birds, the city municipality hopes to reduce the cost of cleaning cigarette butts by at least 75%, reports daily.afisha.ru.
