The world's largest black diamond “Enigma”, weighing 555.55 carats, will be auctioned by Sotheby's. Bidding will be held in Dubai from 3 to 9 February. According to russianemirates.com, the gem has been in a private collection for over 20 years. A black diamond is also known as a carbonado. Sotheby’s Dubai jewelry specialist Sophie Stevens said: “Carbonado black diamonds are exceptionally old. We date them to about 2.6 to 3.8 billion years and believe they are of extraterrestrial origin.” According to experts, the Enigma diamond will go under the hammer for more than 6.8 million US dollars. At the same time, bets will also be accepted in cryptocurrency (BTC, ETH and USDT).

Natural black diamond in 2006 hit the Guinness Book of Records as the largest cut diamond in the world.
