Since January 19, Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service of Russia for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) has allowed three Turkmen enterprises to import tomatoes to Russia. The agency's website reports it.

Two enterprises in the Akhal Region and one in the Dashoguz Region will be able to export tomatoes. It is informed that the decision was made based on the results of the phytosanitary monitoring of enterprises growing tomatoes on the territory of Turkmenistan, represented by the Turkmen party.

It should be noted that earlier Rosselkhoznadzor imposed some restrictions on tomatoes and peppers import for phytosanitary reasons from certain countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Since December 10, 2021, 88 enterprises of Turkmenistan received permission to supply tomatoes and peppers.

Turkmenistan took the 4th place among the largest suppliers of greenhouse tomatoes to Russia last year. In the first eight months of 2021, Turkmenistan exported 32 thousand tons of greenhouse tomatoes to the Russian Federation, which is almost two (92%) times higher than in 2020.
