An extraordinary meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan will be held on February 11 via video link. The corresponding Decree was signed today by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, announced the news program "Watan" of the Turkmen television.
As previously reported, the meeting will consider and approve the Development Program of Turkmenistan for the next 30 years, also summarize the results of work in 2021 and outline tasks for the current year.
Until 2020, the Halk maslahaty (People's Council) played the role of an advisory representative body. In September 2020, it was transformed into the upper house of parliament, which includes 56 members. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was elected as a Chairman of the Chamber.
