The company, that will build a solar-wind power plant with a capacity of 10 MW on the territory of the Altyn Asyr lake in the Serdar etrap of the Balkan Region has been determined in Turkmenistan. It was the company Çalık Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov reported this to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at today's meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Watan news program of the Turkmen television announced.
It will be the first renewable power plant in the country. On June 15, 2021, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov got acquainted with its project.
A loan for the construction of a hybrid solar-wind power plant in the amount of 25 million USD was allocated by the Abu Dhabi Development Fund. The loan was granted to the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs for 15 years with a grace period of 3 years at 4% per annual.
It should be noted, that the holding has quite a lot of experience in implementing energy projects in Turkmenistan. Back in 2006, General Electric and Çalik Enerji built the Ahal Gas Turbine Power Plant, which cost about 109 million USD. Çalık Enerji also participated in the modernization of power equipment and electrical networks in Ashgabat, which took place in 3 stages.
The company was approved as the general contractor for the construction of small gas turbine power plants in Lebap and Mary Regions, as well as 2 gas turbine power plants in Ak Bugday District and Derweze District of Ahal Region. In addition, Çalık Holding is building the most important power transmission line for Turkmenistan 500 kilowatt Turkmenistan — Afghanistan — Pakistan (TAP), which will run parallel to the TAPI gas pipeline.
