A 44-years-old Yazkuli Hojageldiyev in the ended season led FC “Altyn Asyr” to victory in the championship and the Super Cup of Turkmenistan. The club will play in the AFC Cup next season.
Yazkuli Hojageldiyev was born in Bezmein (now - Bezmein etrap of Ashgabat) in 1977. As a player, he played as a midfielder for the Turkmen clubs "Bezmein", "Dagdan", "Kopetdag" and “ITTU”. Multiple champion of Turkmenistan and winner of the Cup of Turkmenistan.
As a coach, for the first time in the history of Turkmen football in 2018 he led the “Altyn Asyr” team to the AFC Cup final. Under the leadership of Hojageldiyev, “Altyn Asyr” became the champion of Turkmenistan eight times in a row (2014-2021), four times won the Turkmenistan Cup (2015, 2016, 2019, 2020) and seven times the Turkmenistan Super Cup (2015-2021). As the head coach of the national team of Turkmenistan, he reached the final of the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup. In 2019, the national team of Turkmenistan under his leadership, after a 15-year break, reached the final of the Asian Cup.
