From August 4 to 15, the ITF Level 2 regional training seminar will be held at the "Tennis Toplumy" Asian Region Training Center in the Olympic village of Ashgabat. This was reported by the "Golden Age" electronic newspaper.
The forum will bring together regional coaches and 12 Turkmen specialists, who will undergo theoretical and practical training from leading specialists of the International Tennis Federation for 12 days.
The seminar was made possible by the recognition of the tennis complex of the Ashgabat Olympic village as the "Training Center of the Asian Region" by the Asian Tennis Federation. The corresponding certificate was presented in June by the ITF representative for tennis development in Asia Seyedamir Borghei.
ITF President David Haggerty noted the "enormous potential of Turkmen coaches." Preparations for the seminar were discussed during a meeting between FTT head Eziz Dovletov and ITF management on the sidelines of the Wimbledon tournament in London.
ITF Manager Tim Jones noted the success of Turkmen tennis players this year. The Turkmenistan girls' team won the right to play in the final of the Asian Team Championship for the first time, which will be held in Singapore from August 25 to 30. The women's team took second place in the Billie Jean King Cup tournament in Colombo, and the men's team made it to the top eight for the first time at the ITF Master's World Team Championship in Türkiye.
