The opening match of the first round of the new season of the Russian Football Championship between Moscow “Dynamo” and Kaliningrad “Baltika” ended in a 1:1 draw.
For “Dynamo” head coach Valery Karpin, the match was his debut in his new position.
The visitors were the first to score in the 13th minute thanks to a precise strike by Salvadoran footballer Bryan Gil, who became the first representative of his country to score a goal in the Russian Premier League. The return goal was scored by “Dynamo's” Paraguayan defender Juan Caceres in the 48th minute.
Forward Ivan Sergeev and defender Maxim Osipenko, who transferred from Samara's “Krylia Sovetov” and “Rostov” respectively, made their debut for the Moscow club.
In other matches of the first round, Moscow “Spartak” beat Makhachkala “Dynamo” with a minimal score of 1:0, “Lokomotiv” confidently defeated Sochi with a score of 3:0, while “Akron” and “Krylia Sovetov” shared points in a match that ended in a 1:1 draw.
