Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the New Year and noted the dynamic development of relations between the two countries.

Despite the difficult epidemic situation in the world, the outgoing year was marked by the dynamic development of relations between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan, based on the principles of strategic partnership.
I am confident that through joint efforts we will be able to ensure the further build-up of bilateral ties in all areas, as well as constructive interaction in international affairs. This, undoubtedly, meets the fundamental interests of the friendly peoples of our countries, goes in line with the strengthening of peace and security in the Central Asian and Caspian regions.
I wish you and your loved ones, dear Gurbanguly Myalikguliyevich, good health, happiness and success, and peace and prosperity to all citizens of Turkmenistan,” reads the message published today in the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
