Ashgabat photo club "Ferula" announced the results of the II International Photo Contest "Ferula-2021", which started in September this year and is timed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of independence and the Day of neutrality of Turkmenistan. This was reported in the publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
Photographs were accepted in four nominations: "Free color photography", "Free black and white photography", "People and their emotions", "Cities of the world".
For each nomination, gold, silver, bronze medals of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), the Photographic Society of America (PSA), the International Photo Club IS and the Ferula Photo Club were established, as well as ribbon of honor and 12 special gold medals at the choice of the jury: each member The jury could award an award to the work it liked regardless of the opinions of the other jury members.
The main prize is a blue FIAP badge for the best author of works in all nominations.
In total, 297 applications from 56 countries were submitted for participation in the competition, including Austria, Vietnam, Belgium, Germany, India, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Turkey, and the USA. A total of 4252 works were received from the participants.
12 applications and 128 works were submitted from Turkmenistan.
Winners of the II International Photo Contest "Ferula 2021":
- Hau Son Nguyen - a photographer from Vietnam received the title of "Best Author" of the photo competition with 14 recognitions (in 4 nominations 14 photos were taken and 2 awards were awarded). He is the main prize of the competition - a blue FIAP badge.
- FIAP gold medals were awarded to photographers from Singapore, Czech Republic, Russia, India.
- Gold medals of the Ferula club were awarded to photographers from Belarus, Georgia, Hong Kong and the Czech Republic.
Note that three authors from Turkmenistan also received high awards: Mekan Abdulaev (IS silver medal), Svetlana Krupskaya (Ferula bronze medal), Begench Shyhliev (IS ribbon of honor).
The jury consisted of professional photographers with many years of experience, members of international organizations and the title of “Outstanding FIAP Master” (EFIAP): Valery Korenchuk (Kazakhstan), Sergey Anisimov (Russia), Vyacheslav Sarkisyan (Turkmenistan). In connection with the pandemic, the jury members evaluated the photographs online: from Moscow, Ashgabat, Alma-Ata.
After the epidemiological situation in the world has improved, the Ferula photo club will organize a photo exhibition of the competition works based on the results of two competitions.
The photo competition was sponsored by FIAP and PSA (Photographic Society of America) - Photographic Society of America. The international photo club IS provided assistance in the preparation and conduct of the event.
