Ashgabat and Ankara set the task of bringing the level of mutual trade to 5 billion USD a year. This was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a briefing for journalists following talks with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat, the Vatan news program of Turkmen television reported.
Let us remind you that Erdogan arrived in Turkmenistan today with a two-day state visit.
"The trade turnover between our countries today is about $ 1.5 billion. I believe that this is not the limit. Our task, as agreed, is to bring the level of trade turnover to $ 5 billion, since Turkmenistan and Turkey have sufficient potential for this. I believe, that it is achievable, "the Turkish leader said.
Erdogan also noted the interest of Ankara and Ashgabat in developing cooperation in the field of road and air transport, as well as in the energy sector.
Note that Turkey is one of the main trade partners of Turkmenistan. The Central Asian country mainly purchases equipment and building materials.
