Today, representatives of national ministries and departments of Turkmenistan took part in the official launch of the regional project “Creating a SDG Platform in Central Asia”, implemented by UNDP in partnership with the European Union and coordinated by the UNDP Country Office in Kazakhstan.
The regional project aims to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Its purpose is to provide a platform for sharing knowledge, thereby contributing to sustainable development. Through this project, assistance will be provided to the CA countries in the analysis and updating of the main socio-economic programs by monitoring the progress of the SDGs and financing.
As part of today's event, the main components of the regional project were presented, as well as a discussion platform was organized with the involvement of key participants to build partnerships, consultations and exchange knowledge and experience with a focus on the regional context of the SDG implementation.
Specialists of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan presented the progress of activities in the field of achieving the SDGs in the country, outlined current priorities, as well as areas of cooperation in the implementation of this project.
The participation of representatives of Turkmenistan was organized with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan “Platform for the implementation of the SDGs, phase II”, according to a UNDP press release.
