Voting in the elections to the State Duma ends in Turkmenistan

Voting in the elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation at polling stations in Turkmenistan has ended. It was possible to vote in Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Mary, Turkmenabat and Turkmenbashi. Voting took place in one day from 8:00 to 20:00 (06:00 - 18:00 Moscow time) on Sunday.

To participate, it was necessary to personally visit the polling station and present an identity document of a citizen of the Russian Federation.

“It is important for me to participate in the elections to the State Duma, I want to participate in the political life of the country,” said Anatoly Ponomarev, a voter, a citizen of Russia, in an interview with the Mir 24 TV channel.

Voting in the Duma and other elections on a single voting day takes place in Russia and abroad from 17 to 19 September. In total, 348 polling stations have been created at Russian embassies and consulates abroad, and election commissions have been formed.

The State Duma is elected for 5 years by a mixed electoral system: 225 deputies are elected by party lists, another 225 - by single-mandate constituencies in one round.
