The Taliban movement (a banned organization in the Russian Federation) is ready to take part in the construction of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), said the representative of the movement Suheil Shahin.

“Afghanistan is the link between Central and South Asia, we are also working to be part of these links, and on many other projects. We have such large projects as the TAPI gas pipeline, a project on roads and railways, which we hope to start on the move,” Shahin said in an interview with Sky News, PRIME agency reports.

Earlier in February of this year, representatives of the movement, following a meeting with the heads of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat, declared "full support for the implementation of TAPI and other projects and ensuring their safety”.

The TAPI gas pipeline is a 1.735 km long trunk gas pipeline from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan, Pakistan to India. The design capacity is 33 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

Let us remind you that on Sunday the government changed in Afghanistan. Taliban representatives entered Kabul and took control of the presidential palace. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani resigned and left the country.
