Online railway ticket sale service resumed in Turkmenistan

The service of selling railway tickets via the Internet has been resumed in Turkmenistan.

You can buy a train ticket online on the website, as well as through mobile applications for Android and IOS. Moreover, Android application must be updated to the latest version on Google Play, since it is in the latest version that it is possible to enter the certificate number for a negative test for Covid-19.

If a passenger travels from another region to his velayat, the section requesting the certificate number will no longer appear. Regional affiliation will be determined by the passport number (I-AS, I-BN, I-LB, etc.). A similar update for the iOS system is under development.

For online purchases, you need passport data, an Altyn Asyr card (including cards from “Senagat” Bank or the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan), CVC card code, and a certificate of a negative test for Covid-19. When downloaded from Android and iOS mobile applications, a copy of the ticket is saved in the application itself and sent to the email address. If the purchase is made on the website, then after payment the ticket itself will be presented for download in pdf format and sent to the email address.

When boarding the train, the train attendant can show the ticket in the application on the smartphone, and it can also be printed out via a printer. If, for some reason, a printed ticket is not available, and it is also not in the mobile application, but you have a ticket number, the conductor will use a scanner to find your ticket and determine your seat.

This system works in all velayat centers, cities and etraps. To use the service, it is enough to have access to the Internet.

During the restriction period, online tickets can be purchased up to 5 days prior to departure at the box office on the day the train departs.

Until May 1, on the routes Turkmenabat-Ashgabat-Turkmenabat and Ashgabat-Dashoguz-Ashgabat, it will be possible to purchase seats in the SC compartment.

In the directions Mary-Serhetabat-Mary and Amuderya-Gazojak-Amuderya, seats will be available only in reserved seat cars.

The online ticket sales service was created by “Asman Oky” company in cooperation with “Demiryollary” OJSC.

As a reminder, the online ticket sales service in Turkmenistan was launched on June 1, 2019. On July 16, 2020, the sale of online tickets was temporarily suspended.
