Railway service resumes in Turkmenistan along one more route

From April 1, the movement of passenger trains in the directions Ashgabat - Dashoguz and Dashoguz - Ashgabat will resume in Turkmenistan. Trains on these routes will run once a week in each direction.

As a reminder, in March, rail passenger transportation resumed on the following routes: Ashgabat - Turkmenabat, Turkmenabat - Ashgabat.

According to the website of the Turkmen railway agency, trains in these directions will stop at Mary. And the suspension of train traffic on other routes is extended until April 15.

The movement of trains, intercity buses was suspended on July 16, 2020 in order to prevent infectious diseases. The country also restricted the work of cultural, leisure and sports institutions, trade and public catering facilities. Mosques and places of pilgrimage were temporarily closed.

Earlier, we reported that the bus service between the capital and the regions of Turkmenistan is being resumed.
