Cooperation in the construction and electrification of the railway on the Turkmenabat-Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi route, as well as on the Ashgabat-Dashoguz route was discussed at a meeting of employees of AOOT “Demiryollary” and OJSC “Rzhd”, OOO “RZHD International” (Russia) in online format.

The interlocutors noted that in the context of the increasing transit role of the transport system of Turkmenistan, large-scale electrification of the railway is becoming more and more relevant. As part of the proposal to participate in the planned projects, OOO “RZHD International” offers a comprehensive approach to the construction, modernization and efficiency of the railways of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen side reaffirmed its interest in starting cooperation with Russian companies in the implementation of the above-mentioned projects. The Russian side, in turn, expressed its readiness to offer the latest technologies and supplies of the necessary equipment with the possible localization of the production of individual components and units at the enterprises of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting primary information was exchanged. In the future, Turkmen colleagues will provide the Russian side with all the necessary documentation to study the technical side of the projects, as well as the feasibility study of the project financing organization.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual satisfaction with the current state of cooperation and outlined plans for further cooperation, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia reports.
