Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the Ambassador of India

Minister of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India Vidhu Peetkhambaran Nair, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

After exchanging warm greetings, the parties noted the significance of the beginning of the year, declared at the initiative of Turkmenistan by the UN General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Confidence.

During the meeting, the effectiveness of the Turkmen-Indian relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields was highlighted. Particular emphasis is placed on joint projects in the field of energy, transport and healthcare.

The Ambassador of India highly appreciated the initiatives of Turkmenistan to create international transport and transit corridors and ensure global energy security. In this context, India's interest in accelerating the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, designed to promote the development of economic cooperation in the regional and international dimensions, was confirmed.

The parties also discussed issues of expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and India in various industries and construction engineering.
