Increasing the capacity of the healthcare system discussed at the Ministry of Healthcare of Turkmenistan

A meeting dedicated to increasing the capacity of the national health system was held at the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper reported today.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the large-scale work on protecting public health, preventing and eliminating infectious diseases, strengthening sanitary and epidemiological well-being, developing the health care system and the medical industry carried out in the country.

The speakers noted that Turkmenistan is increasingly strengthening partnerships with Russia, the United States, Germany, Austria, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Turkey, Belarus and other countries, and also interacts with WHO and other specialized UN agencies in this area.

The meeting participants emphasized that Turkmenistan has taken effective measures to prevent infectious diseases, starting with ensuring social distancing, wearing medical masks, using other personal protective equipment, etc.

To provide the population with pharmaceutical and medical supplies, according to the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, medicines were purchased.

In addition, the country is vaccinating citizens against influenza at risk. The production of masks, protective and disinfectants, as well as protective suits for doctors and medical personnel has been established.

Recall that Turkmenistan was the first in Central Asia to officially register the “Sputnik V” vaccine created by scientists at the Gamaleya Research Center with the support of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and issued a corresponding certificate.
