The energy forum has started its work in Ashgabat

The international online forum "Sustainable cooperation in the field of energy-an important condition for global development" started today in the building of the natural gas Research Institute of SC “Turkmengaz”.

The energy forum, organized by the state concerns “Turkmengaz” and “Turkmennebit” together with the “Turkmen forum”, is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

The forum brought together representatives of 59 companies from 33 countries, half of which participate online, according to the newspaper "Oil and gas".

Major energy companies include PETRONAS, CNPC, LUKOIL, SOCAR, and Dragon Oil. The event is attended by dozens of reputable international organizations and financial institutions, including the international gas Union, the

European Energy Charter, the Global energy center for energy, and representatives of the development Bank.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Myratgeldi Meredov read a welcome message from President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the participants of the

International forum.

The agenda was formed by topics on the development of international cooperation in the field of energy:

• Importance of transnational pipelines as an important condition for energy security and sustainable development in the framework of the plenary session;
• The role of natural gas in the global energy sector after COVID-19;
• A modernized Energy Charter as an essential condition for sustainable development in the energy sector;
• Trans border cooperation in field development.

The forum participants will discuss such topics as energy diplomacy of Turkmenistan-the key to sustainable cooperation; cooperation of the European Union with Turkmenistan in the field of energy; global gas markets and transportation; investment opportunities of Turkmenistan; the role of the TAPI project in the energy market of the region; the importance of natural gas in maintaining sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region, and others.

During the event, pre-agreed meetings will be held with the leaders of the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan.

The forum provides opportunities to discuss topical issues of technology, production and market with industry experts, as well as to establish direct negotiations with the leaders of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan.
