The construction of the administrative building and factory of the Ashgabat carpet-making enterprise is at the final stage. As it became known to "Turkmenportal", the Grand opening of the facility is scheduled for early December.
It is planned to produce 1,650 square meters of carpets and carpet products, including those intended for export, annually.
The new building has all conditions for 200 craftswomen. The spacious and bright rooms are equipped with air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems. The workshop where handmade carpets will be created occupies one thousand square meters. There is a dining room, changing rooms, and showers.
On the first floor, there will be a carpet shop, on the second-an exhibition hall, artists ' workshops, a conference hall and administrative offices. The enterprise will be equipped with a laboratory for painting threads, and a warehouse of raw materials will be located.
The enterprise of artistic carpet making was built by Specialists of the “Ruhabatstroy” trust on the site of the old carpet factory building, which was one of the first structures to be restored after the devastating earthquake of 1948 in Ashgabat.
The history of the capital carpet company dates back to the early 1920s. It was then that the first cooperative public carpet cell in the country was created, and a few years later the carpet artel named after Ene Kuliyeva started working in the village of Keshi (now the territory of Ashgabat). In 1947, the capital carpet artel was established, which received the status of a factory in 1960.
