Representatives of the Turkmenistan Jiu-Jitsu Team successfully passed the official weigh-in procedure before the international Mediterranean Open Grand Prix tournament, which is taking place in the Italian capital from June 13 to 15.
More than 760 athletes from 21 countries, as well as athletes competing under the flag of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation (JJIF), are taking part in the competition.
Weighing was necessary to determine whether each participant fits the declared weight category.
Turkmenistan is represented at the tournament by 18 athletes competing in various age categories, from juniors to masters. The competitions are held in four disciplines: jiu-jitsu, fighting, show and duo. Turkmen athletes will compete for medals in 33 different categories.
The national team is being prepared by coaches Ilyas Ishangulyev and Rahat Kurbanov under the leadership of Kemal Meredov.
