In connection with the adoption of the constitutional Law of Turkmenistan "On amendments and additions to the Constitution of Turkmenistan", the activities of the People's Council (Halk Maslahaty) of Turkmenistan have been discontinued. This is reported by the Country's state news Agency.
On this issue, at today's meeting of the People's Council, the head of state signed an order "On invalidating the 1st order of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan dated September 25, 2018".
"By adopting today the constitutional Law of Turkmenistan "On amendments and additions to the Constitution of Turkmenistan", we have created a bicameral structure of the country's legislative body. In order for the Halk Maslahaty chamber of the new Parliament to start its work, it is necessary to conduct organizational work and election of its members," the head of state said.
According to the Constitutional law, the first election of members of the Halk Maslahaty Chamber of the national Council of Turkmenistan is appointed by the President of Turkmenistan.
In this regard, the head of state signed a resolution of the Halk Maslahaty on the appointment of the first elections of members of the Halk Maslahaty of the National Council of Turkmenistan, as well as organizational work to establish the activities of this structure.
