An interview with Turkmenistan's Ambassador to China Parahat Durdyev was conducted by Xinhua news Agency from the sidelines of the China international trade in services exhibition-2020 (CIFTIS).
In particular, in an interview, the Ambassador said that Turkmenistan is ready to continue productive cooperation with China and expects that China's stable development will have a positive impact on global economic growth.
Durdyev noted that the main direction of bilateral cooperation is energy, and Turkmenistan, for its part, has contributed to China's economic progress by providing it with clean energy.
"The gas pipeline has connected our countries with a tangible thread," the Ambassador said, stressing that the first energy bridge connecting Turkmenistan and China in 2009 is now working effectively and contributes to the positive progress of bilateral cooperation in other areas.
In addition, the humanitarian sphere of the Turkmen-Chinese relations has a serious legislative, intergovernmental and even interdepartmental framework that allows both sides to implement interesting projects, including tourist exchange, exhibition activities, conferences and scientific seminars, Durdyev added. The diplomat also noted China as one of the most attractive destinations for Turkmen youth to study. Many students from Turkmenistan receive a good education in China at the public and private levels, which strengthens relations between our countries.
The Ambassador also noted that this year's bilateral cooperation is focused on the fight against COVID-19, adding that China's successful control of the epidemic and the current CIFTIS exhibition give hope that the same positive trend will prevail in other countries in the future.
"We see thousands of people communicating here without fear for their health. This is the result of the work done by the Chinese authorities and the Chinese people, working hand in hand," the Ambassador said.
Parahat Durdyev also expressed the opinion that China has made many achievements over the past 40 years of reforms, especially in the fight against poverty:
"...I hope that in the future the country will develop at the same positive and stable pace to strengthen the well-being of its people, while at the same time having a positive impact on the development of global economic ties."
