A new series about the Great state of the Seljuk Turkmens will be released on Turkish screens

A new historical series "Awakening: The Great Seljuks" (original title Uyanış Büyük Selçuklu) will soon be released on Turkey's State channel TRT1, Turkish media reported.

The plot of the series is based on the historical period when the Great state of the Seljuk Turkmens reached its greatest political power. The series will take viewers back centuries and tell about the life and reign of Melik Shah, the son and successor of Sultan Alp-Arslan. Melik Shah was one of the most powerful sultans in the history of the Seljuk state, which reached its highest power under him. He significantly expanded the borders of the state, in addition, engaged in the construction and restoration of cities, science and art, and carried out a number of reforms.

The image of the main character on the screen will embody the actor Bugra Gulsoy. And Ekin Koch will play Ahmad Sanjar, his youngest son and the last Sultan of the seljukid dynasty.

The series will premiere on September 28 on TRT1.
