President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a proposal to organize an exhibition with archaeological artifacts of Margiana and Ancient Parthia in Italy during a telephone conversation with Italian leader Sergio Mattarella, the information program "Watan" of Turkmen television reported.

The exhibition "Margiana-the Kingdom of the bronze age on the territory of Turkmenistan" was already held in Germany, but the idea of organizing an exhibition of artifacts of ancient Parthia has not yet been implemented in Europe.

The Turkmen leader stressed that Italy and Turkmenistan have a rich historical and cultural heritage, which creates good conditions for deepening a fruitful dialogue, which includes regular holding of various events, as well as long – term work of Italian specialists on a number of architectural monuments of our country.

It was noted that this activity, which should be further developed consistently, is carried out within the framework of relevant bilateral agreements with leading scientific and educational centers in Italy: The University of Bologna and the Turin center for archaeological research and excavations.

Last year, the international Association for Mediterranean and Eastern studies (ISMEO) and the University of Naples "L'orientale" started archaeological cooperation with Turkmenistan, supporting the activities of the University of Bologna in Margush/Togolok.

President Sergio Mattarella fully supported the proposal for organizing cultural events and assured that it would be considered in detail and submitted to the Italian Government for implementation.
