The President of Turkmenistan held a meeting following an online meeting with the head of WHO

The priority tasks put forward during the online meeting with the head of WHO, as well as their practical implementation, were discussed at a video meeting held by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of foreign Affairs R. Meredov and Minister of health and medical industry N. Amannepesov. This is reported by the state news Agency of Turkmenistan.

Underlining the relevance of the issues discussed at the meeting with the head of WHO, the head of Turkmenistan said that at the present stage it is important to give an effective character to the established relations with international structures and implement practical steps for the successful implementation of the designated tasks. 

Specific instructions were given in this regard. It was noted that every effort should be made to improve the effectiveness of the measures taken, taking into account the requirements of the time.

Noting with satisfaction that all the initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan during the meeting with the head of WHO were fully supported, the head of state ordered to establish coordinated work with the relevant structures, instructing: 

  • step up cooperation in scientific diplomacy and create the necessary conditions for a systematic exchange of views between medical scientists, experts and specialists in other fields;
  • continue to adhere to the recommendations of authoritative international structures and continue to actively cooperate with WHO.
