A telephone conversation took place between the Presidents of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
After exchanging greetings on the occasion of “Gurban bayramy”, the leaders of the two countries stressed that they attach great importance to building up mutually beneficial partnership in all areas.
In this context, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan have a solid potential to expand cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, and to strengthen bilateral cooperation in every possible way for the benefit of fraternal peoples.
The Turkmen leader noted that the agreements reached following the recent trilateral meeting with the participation of the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan will serve to activate the international transport and transit corridor lapis Lazuli, the effective use of which will contribute to the strengthening of universal sustainable development. "Mutual support and joint steps will be the key to the successful implementation of this project," he stressed.
During the telephone conversation, the topic of prevention and control of the coronavirus pandemic, which has caused serious trials for the world community and has a negative impact on international life, was raised.
In this regard, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that in order to develop new ideas and approaches to overcome the current difficult situation in the modern world, it is necessary to consolidate common efforts.
