A forum has opened in Ashgabat, bringing together the scientific community of 20 countries

Representatives of scientific circles from twenty countries gathered today at the Oguzkhan University of Engineering and technology, an international scientific conference dedicated to the science Day celebrated on June 12 in Turkmenistan.

The agenda of the current forum, which is held online with the participation of scientists from Asia, Europe and Africa, includes topics for interaction in priority areas of research, development and application of new technologies.

In the plenary session with welcoming speeches by video link by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, doctor of biological Sciences, Professor Giorgi Kvesitadze, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, doctor of Sciences Murat Jumataev, first Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Chizhik, the first Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Seyit Ibragim oglu Guliyev, Vice-President of the Latvian Academy of Sciences Andres Krasnikovs, a Professor at Tokyo University of Hideomi Koinuma and many others.

The speakers briefly described the main areas of research carried out in the scientific organizations they represent, shared their vision of the prospects for international scientific and technical cooperation, primarily in the field of creating high-tech industries, using digital technologies in the social sphere, forming a common academic platform and network services for solving priority scientific and technical problems in the region and more widely.

They touched upon issues that were put on the agenda of the development of Turkmen science and its international relations, such as improving the efficiency of developments in the field of alternative energy, pharmaceuticals, mineral processing, and others. Special emphasis, including by Turkmen speakers, was placed on the tasks of digitalization as a strategic direction for the development of the economy and social system of our country.

In this aspect, national and international practices of using information and communication technologies and intelligent systems in a wide range of areas were considered: public administration, education, oil and gas industry, trade, tourism, agriculture and water management, and even horse breeding.

An interesting point of view was expressed in one of the reports: it consists in the fact that the transition to the digital economy increases the importance of mathematical disciplines in training and economic education.

Today, the telecommunications industry in Turkmenistan is on the threshold of introducing a new, fifth generation of mobile communications – 5G.the development of this industry will give a boost to the economy, as well as change human activity in many ways.

The conference also presented concrete examples of how digital systems are already successfully used in our country in the work of various structures: chemical industry enterprises, road police and traffic management, environmental control services, archeology and restoration, etc.

Foreign scientists expressed their readiness for a broad partnership with their Turkmen colleagues, noting the availability of modern scientific infrastructure in our country, opportunities and conditions created for innovation.

Tomorrow, the international conference will continue working in sections. Thus, the Oguzkhan University of Engineering and technology will host a meeting on "Information and telecommunications technologies, digitalization of economic sectors".

Issues of science-based development of agriculture, environmental issues and the importance of biotechnologies will be discussed at the technology Center of the Academy of Sciences. Industrial and innovative technologies will be the subject of discussions and exchange of views at the International University of oil and gas.

The session "Economic development, law, international cooperation and tourism" will be held at the Turkmen state Institute of Economics and management. The section "Medicine and production of medicines, sports" will work at the Murad Karryev Turkmen state medical University. Topics covering aspects of the development of the Humanities will determine the presentations of scientists at the Mahtumkuli Turkmen state University, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
