Today, a two-day exhibition and fair dedicated to the development of the carpet, textile and trade industry has been inaugurated at the Sergi koshgi exhibition center, which will also host the XX conference of the world Association of connoisseurs of Turkmen carpet.
Traditionally celebrated on the last Sunday of May, the day of the Turkmen carpet is already difficult to imagine without a large-format exhibition of the best examples of national carpet weaving. Even now, the Grand exposition representing the country's achievements in the field of carpet weaving, textiles and trade is endowed with a special meaning, because on December 12 last year, the Turkmen art of carpet making was included in the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO.
"This is a clear evidence of the recognition by the world community of our amazing carpets created by the skilled hands of Turkmen women, their talent as a delightful example of folk art," President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said in his welcome Address to the participants of the exhibition-fair, which was listened to with great attention by the audience at the opening ceremony.
The fair, which is attended by more than 100 exhibitors, is organized jointly by the Ministry of textile industry, the Ministry of trade and foreign economic relations, the State commodity exchange, the Ministry of textile industry, the Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs, and the chamber of Commerce and industry of Turkmenistan.
Examples of carpet weaving, textile production, and trade from government agencies and organizations, as well as private companies, are presented at the exhibition sites. Cotton processing enterprises, silk – spinning, weaving, clothing factories, footwear and leather goods manufacturing plants and, of course, there are a lot of carpet-making masters here-carpet factories, individual entrepreneurs, workshops for artistic carpet-making.
Demonstration of national and seasonal clothing from leading domestic sewing and design companies has already become a good tradition. Here you can get acquainted with the latest developments in the clothing industry, successful design solutions in clothing for adults and children.
The exhibition presents a wide range of Metropolitan and velayat commercial and industrial enterprises of the public and private sector, demonstrating a variety of products: "Turkmensteel", "Turkmengrocery", the Ashgabat public catering network, the capital's shopping centers and others.
Present here are the Trading house of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen-Belarusian and Turkmen-Turkish Trading houses, which are ready to provide information about goods and services.
Visitors simply do not know what beauty to look at, because today the exhibition center is home to the best examples of national art: carpets made of wool, silk, cotton, mixed; Kosmas, Palas, fine – wool carpets with a velvety surface-everything here demonstrates taste, elegance of drawing, harmony of color.
Visitors can not only admire the carpets, but also buy a real piece of carpet art directly from the masters, bypassing intermediaries.
