Turkmenistan and the UAE held inter-Ministerial consultations

Today, during the inter-Ministerial consultations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates, topical issues of political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation were discussed, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs Berdiniyaz Myatiev. The UAE delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs and international cooperation on political Affairs, Khalifa Shaheen Khalifa Almarar.

Speaking about trade and economic cooperation, the parties focused on the positive potential for expanding cooperation in this direction and discussed the importance of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Emirati Commission on trade and economic cooperation.

The President of Turkmenistan's initiatives to overcome the impact of the pandemic in the region and in the world, put forward in the international arena, were highlighted.

After discussing the active multilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE, the diplomats stressed the positive interaction between the two countries within the framework of international organizations, in particular the UN. Issues related to expanding the legal framework of the two States were also discussed.

Noting that the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties is of particular importance, the parties expressed interest in further strengthening cooperation in this direction.

The diplomats noted that the organization of high-level meetings is an effective mechanism for the development of bilateral relations.
