Part of the 1986 Formula 1 car of the John Player Special Team Lotus, which was raced by the legendary Ayrton Senna, has been melted down and turned into an exclusive watch.
Created in collaboration with Classic Team Lotus, the Rec Watches is limited to 989 pieces. Each copy costs 3995 USD.
The watch case is made of stainless steel, and the bezel is made of forged aluminum, obtained from the original air intakes of the Lotus 98T car.
The dial is protected by sapphire crystal, the strap is made of leather.
The watch is water resistant to 100 meters.
At the moment, only a little over one and a half hundred chronographs are available for order. The remaining copies have already been dismantled.
